Weighing in a day early, because I couldn't resist getting on the scales today. I wasn't expecting to see a drop like this! I'm not recording what I eat, and trying to maintain, but I don't mind if it goes down a little. My long-term goal is to lose a few more pounds, just not bothered about doing it right now.

Also got my hubby to measure my body fat, and now down to 24% exactly, according to the measurements he took! Was 24.6% six weeks ago.

This week I got two amusing comments from people I hadn't seen for a couple of months:

"I've been trying to figure out what's different about you, Heidi. You've had your hair cut, haven't you?" I said no, I'd shaved the beard off, lol! Mike told him I'd lost a lot of weight.

"You've lost a lot of weight. Don't lose any more!" I reassured her that I planned on staying the same for a while. What I found interesting about this one was that she is overweight. I don't think I would get that comment from a slim person! In fact I have previously had one comment from a now very slim person, urging me to lose lots more!

But it's MY choice to be whatever weight I want to be, isn't it? So I'm not listening to either of them, ha ha! I just want to be the 'healthy' range, so that I can make the most of life!

Great loss Heidi. I too keep getting, "Oh you don't want to lose any more". You should see the faces when I tell them I am only half way!

Congrats on your successful 'experiment' to date!! I've found in my own experience with weight loss that I tend to be most successful when I'm driven by and listening to my own 'voice' vs. being motivated by outside forces . . . we never really know what's 'behind' a lot of comments from others because we often aren't familiar with their own experiences that ultimately shape their beliefs and perceptions -- especially with a topic with as much 'emotional baggage' as weight and body image.

Thanks all for your comments and support. I should be going on to my 'phase 3' now, which I think was supposed to be doing without contact with buddies, but actually, I don't think I need or want to 'disappear'! So here's to you all 🍻 and I'll keep in touch as much as I can. It's still another three weeks till we set off on our travels 😀

Well done Heidi. I thought I had reached my optimum weight, but still lost a little more on my maintenance diet, so my body made the final decision on what my weight should be, and I'm happy with that. :)

Good on you Heidi, just proves that you can keep a steady weight whilst not micromanaging all that goes into your mouth. I am taking inspiration from you and will be trying to not record for a while, see how it goes. I am also going to try mindfulness eating, see if it stops me eating any earlier than currently, which is when my plate is empty haha.
