I followed Atkins for a couple of years, which sorted my cholesterol, but I never lost any weight, I re focused in a number of ways, one being studying nutrition with a distance learning college. I, through my studies, formulated a personal diet plan and lost most of the weight I had decided had to go, but the last few pounds were being stubborn. I decided to track on FS, which was recommended on a nutrition site I follow and thanks to FS keeping an eye on me and my peanut fettish I have finally reached my goal. It has been a long and bumpy ride, but so worth it, my self confidence has soared and I am totally happy with who and what I am, finally! I won't say most of it was easy, it took a lot of determination and disciplined eating, missing out on certain events, all for the greater good.

Many people said 'oh just have one, it won't hurt' or similar, I stayed strong, as I was doing this for me, not them. I think doing your journey for yourself is so important, you are the only one who has the right to decide how you want to look and feel, no one else should judge you for anything you do or are.

I now pick and choose what events I want to attend, sometimes if I can get away with it, I take my own food, so I can enjoy the social aspect. But what I won't do is compromise on my principles for eating, if I am to keep this weight off, I need to keep my new habits, not go back to my old ways of eating and as a consequence undo all my hard work, this is for life, my life!
