Just a wee story about our cat, Lily. We have high tech feeders (see photograph) for both Lily and Lucy. They only open when they sense the appropriate embedded microchip, allowing us to control the diet for each of them.
What happens with Lily is funny to watch. She always walks up to the bar, then headers it quite firmly. I don't know if she bumped her head on the bar the first time she used it and thinks that is what opens it! She is a funny wee creature.
