JockoT's Journal, 04 Oct 16

Everything was going great yesterday, then disaster. I had my meals planned and counted. We were over at my wife's mother's having returned from a funeral, it was 5pm, I had an hour drive ahead of me before getting fed and I was offered a piece of homemade shortbread with my coffee. And I had one piece but about 4 fingers worth!
Then after my evening meal my wife gave me a dish of fruit I hadn't planned on. And what did I do. I added double cream. It is so easy to slip.
So it is back on 1500 calories for the rest of this week. I cannot trust myself to go above that.

I've so easily done the same thing, especially evening can see food but know that I be got some time to go before I eat a proper meal. I love shortbread too,

It’s all too easy to go over the allowance we set for ourselves, but it’s really hard when we’re out and about. However we have to accept life’s little ups and downs, that’s what makes it all worthwhile. You have a will of iron, I know you can sort it. Good luck.

At least you made a note of where you went wrong and maybe will think twice next time. Have a good day :)

On the plus side, have a look at your monthly averages on your diet stats page - you're doing a lot better than last month! I think you're going to have to learn to have small treats without overindulging, otherwise life is going to be boring! I did something yesterday I haven't done for many months - had a square of chocolate. I have avoided it like the plague, because it's so more-ish, but yesterday I ate one square and put it away. That's a good sign, I think 😀 Won't try it again for a while though, I don't want to push my luck!

It is easy to slip, but if it's once in a while it's not so bad. It's my husbands birthday today we are having steak and salad but my son is making a cheesecake, I will just have a small piece. (I hope)
