JockoT's Journal, 21 Sep 16

Diet has gone to Hell in a handcart. Yesterday was the last straw. My daughter was coming for lunch so I went to Sainsbury's and bought buffet food. Mini Egg Bites, Mini Pork Pies, savoury pastries of all sorts. Add to that cake and biscuits (it would have worked out cheaper to have taken her for a bar lunch) and the magnitude of the diet disaster is evident. It would have been bad enough if it had been used up at lunch time, but it wan not, so I ended up stuffing my face for the rest of the day.
When I sat down to the last of the mini pork pies for supper was when Mrs Jocko gave me a thorough rollicking! So it has to be all change from now on.
I had the last of the Mini Egg Bites for breakfast (not too far off piste), and I have to really knuckle down from now on. Friday's weigh in should be a shocker, but it should only get better from then. Wish me luck.

It sounds like you enjoyed it, and if you are good until Friday, you probably won't see too much damage. Well done Mrs T for telling you off!

Did you enjoy the food JockoT? or were you eating it because it was there? Just wondering as I find that not having eaten much processed foods for quite a while don't actually really enjoy the taste anymore. Any way, good luck with the rest of the week and the weigh in. B

Get back on the horse, drink lots of water as you will have consumed a lot of salt yesterday.

I think we all have Disaster days, you have admitted it to yourself, so well done!! Now just get back on track and you never know Friday's weigh in might not be that bad and if it is, well you are already doing something about it. Good luck Jocko!

I hear you Jocko... I'm only back at the same weight I fell to because I forced myself to pay attention after my excesses and have been cutting back too, all I want to do until February is "maintain" and I refuse to fail so simple a task. My father in law (professor of nutrition I mentioned before) made a stark observation in an email the other day. He was telling me that I should not assume my stomach will remain smaller than before having been through the total food replacement programme. He went on to say our stomachs expand to accommodate whatever we put into them; it's their job to expand, but it's our job to stop. I was suitably chastised... :( And thus I am now back at the point I started food again. So all's well that ends well. Likewise - - We all have faith in you Jocko, and we all know you "can" and "will" because you have proved it to us all, once already... Keep the faith :)
