YES, that is the truth, 100%. Hang onto that thought! Success with these big changes is all about the repetition, about the diligence. "Hammering the good habits into place" is the way to the finish line. You already see that it's never just about our bodies. It's also about our minds, the choices we make, each day, one at a time. So don't worry about the pace! Rinse and repeat, and you WILL get there. :-)

Thanks, all. Yeah, just need to be patient and not fall into old habits of getting disheartened so easily when I plateau or put a couple of pounds on. At least I'm well aware of where I go wrong!
