Place holder weight today. Tomorrow I will weigh in. I think it will be about 205.

So, last night I was making my protein shake and broke protocol by adding my fruit while the blender was operating with the immediate result of firing frozen huckleberries half way across the kitchen, and I realized there were things I was doing that you guys didn't know about. I'll tell you about them as they come up.

This one will be particularly interesting to those of the LCHF persuasion. First, I love fruit. I will not, WILL NOT, do without it. I love, love, love it. Try to take it away from me and you will go the way of the Dodo. (Actually, each of us will do that eventually anyway, but that's another discussion.)

I used to make my protein shakes with milk. I struggled a bit with it because, along with the fruit, the milk also pushed up the carbs. I have found a solution.

Okay, so my goal is to remain under 2200 calories with a max of 120 gr of carbs. (Not looking for ketosis.) I finally found my solution to reduce the carbs in my protein shakes and it tastes better than blending with milk. Ready? Goodbye, milk; hello, 1/4 cup of whipping cream. Yep. It's awesome and only 80 calories higher than a cup of milk!

Again, my calories are relatively high compared to many people on this site so instead of the 1/4 cup, my guess is that an 8th cup would be at least as good as the shake with milk. Give it a try. I think you'll like it.

I use unsweetened almond milk and I love it in my protein shakes...keeps carbs very low so that I can add a little fruit to sweeten the pot. I save my cream for my afternoon coffee.
