The body must use a phenomenal amount of energy to heal itself. I am eating like a "navvie" but not gaining any weight. I am also tired all the time, and sleeping at the drop of a hat.
Just wish I felt a bit better and not so sore.

Try and make sure your diet is full of very nutritious food and cut out any junk. Your body needs the best to heal itself. Sleep is very healing too. I hope you'll feel you've really turned the corner soon. Have a good day.

Hi Jocko sleeping the clock around must be part and parcel of the recovery, it's over 12 hours for me with all the cat naps I keep having during the day, thought the little walks might have boosted me to stay awake but no such luck as yet.....I think it's my age that's got a lot to do with it, I was hoping cutting the meds down would have given me more energy/zest but that also fell by the wayside.....it will be very interesting to see how long it will take before we are both back in Tip Top Condition I thought I was quite active for my years and so miss gardening and driving my car, this has really pushed me back but I so want to be me again..... BFN Maggy x.... ps And tearful I can cry at the drop of a hat!

Maggy. I keep trying to stop the meds, but after a day without I realise they are giving me more relief than I am giving them credit for. I have just spent the last 4 hours, sleeping on the settee, and that is after only one hour out of bed and a good night's sleep! I really miss driving. At first I rather relished the idea of 6 weeks with no driving but now I am longing to get out and about again. Yes, age certainly makes a huge difference to the healing process.

Your body has had a big shock. Age does count. To help it heal you have to accept this fact. The best thing for your body is for you to listen to it. Relax, stop fretting. Do jigsaws puzzles, painting, Try wood carving. Have you heard of mindfulness, research it. Give your body time. I was quite ill some years ago. I believed it was for 6 days. The doctor told me it would take a year for me to recover. He was right. It was a year before I felt like my old self. Take care.

Thank you Jenny. I have had a look at Mindfulness, and will see what it can do for me. Funny you should mention jigsaws. My brother is an avid jigsaw builder and he gave me one to help fill my time. I also build guitars, so may start another of those while I am confined to the house.
