I'm going to go easy next week. I'll enjoy the week and try to keep fairly level with food. When I get back, I think I'll have to bite the bullet and cut about 10 pounds. I've been hanging at 12% for quiet a while. Time to cut that last bit of weight to get to around 10%. I've been kind of silly putting it off.

It has to be water northernmusician, you haven't been over your average RDI for the month so either it is water, clothes, or your scale - if not then you may have an issue with the calculation of your RDI. My "weight doctor" said in my case, the RDI they gave me on this site was a little higher than what she suggested so I trimmed mine down, but I am trying to lose weight, not maintain. In any event, don't let it get you down, in the words of Hot Tuna - Keep on Truckin' (46th Street Rock Palace - New York, NY 1973)

Thanks, Jim. My RDI is a bit high, 2700 is what every TDEE calculator calculates for me and I've been sitting around the 2800 to 2900 mark. but I haven't really been trying to lose. I did a deload and am just now back into exercising so I could have been off a couple hundred calories per day in addition to the known overage. It's not a major concern; it's just a matter of getting my head around the final cut. I should be able to get my head into it by the middle of April.

There are times our bodies just hold on giving us days of ah, h e double hockey sticks. Hang in there keep on track and don't beat yourself up, enjoy the journey, the good and the not so good. You and I both know you can make it through a bad weigh in now and again.

Weight loss like weight gain is not linear. If you've been overeating then your weight gain will bounce around as your weight loss has. Any sudden gain is just water weight, 0 cals to put on, 0 cals to take off. I think you know the drill on this one. Slowly cut you daily calories until you're losing at the rate you want. You can incorporate some calorie cycling as well since you were doing well on the fasting. Have you ever tried to incorporate VLC (very low calorie) days in your plan rather than full fasts? I'm tempted to try it to see how that would work.

How many calories is VLC, Catherder? I would be interested in trying it too. Fasting is not my thing.

A VLC is typically 800 cals/day. It include a minimal amount of heathly fats centered on omega 3. Adequate protein, typically around half the calories and the remainder either fats or carbs. No exercise while on the diet.
