I started blood pressure medication in the last two years when I was much heavier. They have been monitoring my kidneys by ultrasound every 6 months as precautionary, as it is a side effect of the blood pressure medication. Red flag, I have a family history of high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes and kidney failure. In November, I had lost a majority of my weight and at that time my blood pressure medication was halved and until recently I'm not taking any at all as per doctors advise. Only monitoring with be required at the doctors office every 6 months. But I will still monitor my blood pressure at the local pharmacy just to make sure it still normal.
My Goal to Myself: Is to never put myself in that situation again where I need artificial means to control my blood pressure if I can help it!
