So, as I approach the end of my first 'controlled' bulk (the last was not exactly controlled. :( ) I'm discovering something about myself that is a little disconcerting, and that is, I think I'm slightly addicted to the idea of losing weight. I'm not talking about dis function as much as I am a discomfort with gaining weight even on purpose. I had a bubble of weight in the middle of the week and I became concerned that I was now going to gain too fast. I cut calories by 200 and... now I'm right back where I started. So... back to 3300 until I hit that stable 190 pounds I was talking about yesterday. Then the cut. Maybe I've simply have discovered that in the cycle I'm more interested in the cut phase than the bulk?

Just in case you missed it - did you notice I've discovered a way now to whine about losing AND gaining weight?

Humpf...your goal is to weigh a certain amount? Or is it to be lean - I think you said 10% BF? Or to just be strong with enough muscle to burn over 3000 calories eaten each day? You are a marvel!

Trying to gain strength as muscle mass. It's a moving target. Excess to gain muscle is required. Cutting slow enough to keep what you have. :( I've never been a highwire artist.

It is a delicate balance - my plan is still simple...lose fat!

We're all wienie whiners from way back. That's why we've got this site. Support and to let off steam. Lucky, aren't we to have each other?

Guess we are lucky ClassicRocker......whining is my favorite thing to do....well, maybe not my favorite.....eating is right up there....wouldn't be on this site otherwise:)

Proportion is everything. The 1980's body builder bulky barrel-chested bouncer look is out, the lean wiry surfer with chiseled muscles look is in. Women here in SoCal prefer the more cheetah-like physique on guys.

soonsoonsoon, the cali girls are a long way from where I am. I'll never be an 80s bb type, neither would I want to be. No metrosexuals where I live. The fact is those little wiry guys can't manage much more than a surfboard. ;)
