Maybe ditch the smarties too?

We want the Smarties to spike the insulin to promote body recomposition. I've managed to get this right sometimes in the past but not consistently. It doesn't help that I'm a bit heavier now, it's like trying to hit a moving target.

Body re-composition will not work for you because to do a successful recomp you need to gain as much muscle as you are losing fat. You need to lose 44kg (97lb)

What's body re-composition? I feel like I know nothing on this site..... I just wait for my stomach to growl before I eat anything......

@Sparxx43 I understand it as gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time. This is in opposition to just losing fat - "cutting", or just gaining muscle - "bulking".

I'm already putting on muscle, visibly, I'm squatting once or several times a week. I was doing 5x5 but it's tailed off into squats which seem to give the most bang for the buck. I imagine eventually I'll plateau with the squats and then I'll expand again to get rid of the left-over energy. When I say I'm putting on visible muscle, I didn't realise this till there I am brushing my teeth one day and there's something odd... can't work it out... my reflection's not quite right... hey wait, is that bicep bigger? It was.. :-)

Body recomp means you burn fat while the process is happening and muscle gets created. I suggest interested parties read the Carb Nite Solution by John Keifer, 40% off just now, to get the full picture http://carbnite.com/

I don't actually need to lose X pounds because if I'm putting on muscle, which I am, then that changes things, doesn't it? Getting a body entirely made up of the good stuff, muscle and bone with just a comfy covering of fat, is the real aim, and we won't know what I'll weigh when I'm in that happy state. This site doesn't really allow for that, it's weight on or weight off, it doesn't seem to make allowance for what that weight's made of.

@billruse I am glad you have put on muscle that's fantastic news! But you are not going to gain 44kg of muscle. If you want to change your appearance, lose weight, it will make your muscles look far bigger because they "poke through" that comfy layer of fat ;)
