I have been weighing daily while trying to work out what I should be eating, however it is very irritating when I have been 'good' but the weight has gone up! It's only a fluctuation I know, and I just have to stick at it and be patient. However, for today, the feeling can be summed up in one word, which is 'GRRRRRR'!
77.9 kg Lost so far: 2.8 kg.    Still to go: 7.2 kg.    Diet followed: 100%.

Weighing in daily is very tough. You constantly see the fluctuations and wonder if it's something you did or didn't do. I couldn't hack it. I'm a weekly weigher. Stay strong, it's perfectly normal to fluctuate :)

Thanks guys! I've had two big problems in the past with overweight. One is underestimating the amount I'm eating and drinking, particularly overlooking the snacks and drinks, and thinking they don't matter. The other is blithely being able to tell myself I'm not as fat as I actually am. I want to succeed with this, I want to lose the weight and keep it off, so I have to get real. Hence writing everything down every day, including the weight, even if I don't like it, and even if all it shows is that I have to be disappointed sometimes. Having said which, I was 173 pounds this morning, weighed again just before lunch, after a bit of light activity and a BM (sorry if that's too much information), and hey presto, as if by magic, 171.75 pounds! I think I am going to record that now, just to keep the pressure on! I know I might be in for a disappointing weigh-in tomorrow, but then I can just laugh at myself and say, 'ha ha, told you so!' Lol. I don't know if I'll ever be able to do weekly weigh-ins, as I'm so good at lying to myself. Anytime I'm not able to weigh daily, I just put weight on 😞

Indeed, and dancing is great exercise too! One of the things I will be able to do again when I've lost more weight and am not stressing my knees so much 😀

It is frustrating to go up and down. Thanks for buddying with me. You are a great help. Thanks for starting the challenge "Do that thing". It is very motivating.

I weigh daily. I would hate to wait a whole week to know what is happening. I weigh after going to the toilet in the morning, but before I dress and eat/drink.

Well I'm expecting to be up again tomorrow, but never mind, I will get it down again soon. Karen, enjoy the challenge, it's going to be fun! Everyone has a different goal, but we can all give encouragement and help each other to succeed ☺

Some weigh daily as a constant 'monitor/motivation,' -- I try to limit my weigh-ins to once/week -- same day/time on empty stomach (Monday AM) . . . BUT everyone is different. If you're going to continue to weigh daily, try not to get too hung up on the daily figures but in the overall DOWNWARD TREND you've been logging! (i.e., refer to the FS chart). Logging every calorie can be tedious/difficult, but I think worth the effort both for 'accuracy' and also to prepare for what I think may prove even more difficult -- MAINTAINING the weight loss after goal weight is achieved. Good luck, buddy!

I weigh in at 4am after using the restroom. I never do it more than once every 3 days because I just get discouraged. Try checking out the calorie king website not to join but to use their tool to figure out how many calories you should be eating. It uses your gender, age, heit, weight, and activity level and then asks if you want to lose, gain or maintain and then it tells you a range of calories you should be eating! Keep up the great work Heidi!

Heidi I weigh daily also for the same reason that Rindaloo said & in the same way! I look at the #'s as encouragement for me no matter if its up or down....down encourages me to keep doing whatever it is Im doing cuz its working! Up encourages me to be watchful as to what I let pass my 2 lips(food AND beverages) & to not put off exercising to a later part of the day, but do it right now! :D
