21 days into the died, lost 12lb in total but slowed down a bit this week….which is fine….target 2 more pounds next week and that’s a stone in 4 weeks which would be amazing (going to have to be careful…Sue’s birthday tonight and gaucho’s tomorrow for the Depech mode concert) ! Pleased with progress no alcohol in 23 days either….looking forward to making it a full month!

Depeche Mode, I'm jealous. I saw them years ago. Brilliant. I'm doing dry Jan too and haven't dared go for a night 😀 (not that I've had any invitations mind you 🙃🙂)

Makes a big difference no lager…I drink way to much of it and the side effect is calories in lager the.n crap food at night and the next day…so no lager has resulted in an easier run in to the healthy eating….hoping to do dry Feb and March as well….would like to lose another stone….the Concert was amazing!

Lager has loads of calories so will make a big difference cutting that out. My tipple is cava. I have swapped it for slimline tonic.

How do you get a 2000-calorie deficit for 3 weeks? 12 pounds in 3 weeks is 4 pounds per week. At 3,500 calories per pound, it takes minus 2,000 calories per day to lose 12 pounds in 3 weeks. I eat 1500 calories a day and exercise an hour at the gym to lose 1 pound per week. I have a proper scale and measure precisely what I eat.

Hey, JLoydJr. Chances are this isn't 12lbs of fat that has been lost. In the first couple of weeks the body will shed stored glycogen and water and a little fat. Then, as these stores deplete the body will begin to burn fat, as long as you remain in a calorie deficit, giving the slower, harder weight loss.

@JLoydJnr….i started the diet after a very heavy Christmas…..I was at my heaviest….i lost 5lb week 1 (assume mostly lager and water😀 and 4lb week 2 and 3lb week 3…..so definitely slowing downi am eating #£&* all…..on 5 days a week I eat circa 1000 calories….i also do karate 4 hrs a week, body conditioning 3 times a week and some running….i think it will settle down now….

Hi Amb El Gos…..I reckon you are bang on here…..and the heavier you are the faster you lose that initial weight!

Hi, amacdon8, sounds like you are hitting the slower, harder fat loss phase right now!
