I'm happy with that! 🙂

Unfortunately, I had a little bit of bad news from my doctor, but I'm going to sort it out. I recently had a check-up, with urine and blood tests.

My urine had ketones in it, a little bit below the diagnosis for diabetes. I also have PCOS, so I really have to watch my blood sugar, before I run into problems.

I'm trying to look at the positive side though. I'm losing weight and I can still reverse this high blood sugar through diet. It's a warning sign that would be foolish to ignore.

So, I'm now on a low carb, low sugar diet. I need to eat 3 meals a day with 1-2 small snacks. Each meal can have up to 40 grams of carbs and the snacks can have 20 grams.

It's going to be a big change for me as some of my favourite foods are beans, rice, falafel, hummus, tortilla wraps, potatoes, and pasta.

Well, I can still have them...just in a much smaller portion. 🫤

It will be good for me, I'll lose even more weight! 🤣

I'm in the same boat with the PCOS and dodgy blood work results. I still have high carb food like pasta and rice, but I have a portion that fits my diet and then throw in a cup or two of mixed veg to add a bit a bulk and fill me up without sending the numbers sky high. Maybe worth a try?

Nadia - As always, such a sweetheart ❤️ I will definitely try your suggestion of taking a chromium supplement. I've never heard of it, but just Googled it and I see that it's perfect for my situation. I will buy some. Thank you so much for caring about me! 🥰

Hi Mitzi80, shame your diabetic, but like you said, you can sort food out. It sounds like you're on top of things, so very weldone. I would be in a big mess, as I don't know how to sort things out, but my lovely Jim would, so I am truly grateful he is with me. Have a great Friday. Love Merry Mel 🤩

I've been having less than 60g of carbohydrates per day for the last three months. It's been easier than I thought it would because the fat/protein heavy meals seem to leave me sated for longer. As a result, I've been losing about a kilo a week pretty steadily without too much drama. I was skeptical before I started on this path (at my doctor's suggestion) but it has worked well for me so far. I wish you all the best for your own journey.
