Bubbles McBubble's Journal, 26 Apr 23

Well I thought yesterday I thought I had finished my whoosh but I've lost another 500g today... that's a pound.

On 15 april I had got down to 90 kg. That saturday I had my daughter over and ate 6 pieces of delicious sushi, and later on that day I had a macdonalds apple pie and stole some of her mcflurry. I unwhooshed. I did an antiwhoosh. I retrieved all that glycogen and water and inflammation. The inflammation is the elephant in the room...

I went up to 91.4

So let's imagine I hadn't done that. Remove all those intermediate entries. I've gone from 90kg to 88.3, in 11 days.

1.7kg in 11 days. So pro rata that back to a week and I'm losing at a rate of 1.08kg per week.

That's not bad. Eating anywhere between 1500 and 1600 cals a day, that is not bad at all.
88.3 kg Lost so far: 14.7 kg.    Still to go: 3.3 kg.    Diet followed: 100%.

I don't understand @cindy. How does it sound terrible? 1600 calories is quite a lot and I'm losing weight pretty fast. 2lb a week @1600 cals a day is pretty darn good. especially as I am over 50. In my teens and twenties maybe, but not at this age.

- and I have hypothyroidism. I feel cindy that your comment, unexplained as it is, is tantamount to fat shaming. is that what you are doing? fat shaming?

Sorry Cindy, I took what you were saying the wrong way based upon prior experience. At my age, tdee is something like 1700 or 1800 cals a day. I'm 5'5", 53 and diabetic, together with hypothyroid. Because my body's needs are low I have over the last 10 yrs on most sites been expected to go down to 1200 cals a day. For me this has made the wheels fall off, I could never sustain that for more than a month at a time, and then I'd lose it, decide I was doomed to be fat for life, and eat ALL of the food... So from my position 1600 cals a day is a LOT and if you look at diaries on here, people are eating between 700 cals a day and maybe 3,000 cals a day.. All sorts. So I'm 200 or 250 cals a day under my tdee, and I'm losing 1kg a week. that's insanely good results for that kind of a deficit. I ought to be losing 250 x 7 / 3500 = half a pound a week, and I'm losing two and a bit pounds a week. And I'm not hungry. So I consider this an incredible win. :) Sorry for thinking the worst of you Cindy. My mistake.
