I'm going to record this horror because maybe it'll mean I don't eat six sushi and a mackas apple pie next weekend.

Oh no, I just remembered. my son's birthday this saturday...

Anyway just gonna faithfully record. Went onto another site to figure out my tdee and it's around 1900 cals a day, so this machine (cannot override it) sets me up with 1600 cals a day, that's only 300 cals a day reduction, which is stupid. that's .6 of a lb weekly loss designed into the diet.

I'll just ignore it and go with what I expected, 1200.

And for the hecklers who may have stopped heckling (would be nice if they had, but maybe not)

on keto, you can eat as much fat as you want and ignore the 'calories in/calories out'.
This is because if you eat only fats and your daily requirement of protein, you don't FEEL LIKE eating more than you need. So you don't have to monitor it. this was a phenomenon first discovered with Atkins and I heard it 20 yrs ago when my dad went on atkins. So this isn't a new idea: that you can stop monitoring calories because your body will naturally align.

Eating carbs absolutely negates this. There's a set point for carbs a day that will kick this into touch because it'll set off the fat storage hormones and all bets are off.

For me I think that's around 16 - 20 net carbs a day. Which is hella low. A cup of milk has 11.

But whether I manage that or not, my sugars are still magnificent. "excellent" said the lab technician. So despite going sideways, I am also going forwards, but perhaps not in areas I was focusing on.
