Working long hours with little movement and little time for exercise, depressed about it and stress eating a bit. I don’t get paid when my clients don’t show up (and they often don’t; it’s the nature of my field for many people to not respect the time of those providers who are paid 100% by the client’s insurance when there isn’t a cancelation fee). So I’m working more than most jobs but making less money. I feel trapped and exhausted, but trying to hang in there for a while because of the good things about my job like all the valuable trainings. Idk I think I need to go PT or something (you know, to be less than 50-55 hours on top of my other job). I am about to quit my garmin coach 10k training plan bc ive gotten too far behind on it due to work so I have to either start over or maybe start a 5k plan instead. I just don’t have time in my week for the 11 mile runs etc this plan calls for. Especially since we’re still trying to put the kitchen back together. I’m also getting flabby so I need more time for strength training. Looking at starting up “8 minutes in the morning again” plus gym if I can make it. Please say a prayer for me that I figure out my life friends

Prayers for you. Instead of stressing, try taking a deep breath every now and then. Walk outside if you can. We're all rooting for you and we all struggle but the one constant is that time does pass and change always comes.

Thank you rufeel and thanks for the add. I did go for a little walk earlier. I thought maybe half a walk would be a good start with hope of getting the other half in later. Good thought about change

So much going on and so little time! Work life balance can be a challenge and draining. Gosh, sorry you don’t get paid when clients don’t show. That must be horrible. I hope you find the balance you need for your physical and mental health!:) 🤗💕

I keep resistance bands in my living room so that whenever I pause a movie, I do a set of something. Could you do this whenever a client no-shows? Or you could drop and do a plank. I feel ya on the kitchen construction, but a fruit bowl in the dining room is both pretty and encourages healthy stress eating 😄. It sucks that your hours are so wonky with work. Maybe only working afternoons-early evenings will allow you running time in the mornings? 💚

I know it's hard but you have to put yourself first. If you can do that and see that first few pounds drop you will start to fell so proud that it will give you more confidence with everything in your life and it will keep getting better and better.

I felt trapped when I was paid per visit too. I spent way too many hours without compensation. I had no time for myself and could not plan anything. I envied people who had nice evening plans or who had time to exercise. I am now quite adamant about not providing any free work, which resulted in my being labeled as caustic and difficult to work with. Hang in there Cindy, maybe a salaried position is quietly waiting for you somewhere. Options are definitely there, keep looking.

I had to come back and read this. Your 10k program is making you do an 11 mile run?! Which coach do you have? If you were just doing the program for fun or to expand your running exercise backlog, and that's too much I'd definitely recommend switching coaches.

Thanks JB! We do have a fruit bowl so that helps. I have never tried resistance bands, should I? I have been trying to squeeze in a little exercise here and there, like yesterday I took two fifteen minute walks when clients did not show up (I would go longer but there’s always something else to do). I did not get any strength training in on my breaks but am trying to get started on that.

Thank you Asarver! ❤️ Yes garmin had me scheduled for two 11 mile runs this week on my 10k plan! My coach was Jeff Galloway. I picked him because of his experience and style and because his plan only calls for 3 runs a week (vs 4 or 5) but yeah the mileage is a lot. And there’s lots of hill training and I have no hills so those workouts are unhelpful and too short.
