northernmusician's Journal, 17 Jun 14

I remember this routine. Holds steady for a couple of days and then the drop. It's expecting the drop that can be painful. At least I'm on track. Another 2400 day today with two 1800s to follow. I'm liking it.

Too bad our bodies don't work in linear fashion. But you're doing great.

2400, thats what I'm at every day now. I'm thinking I want to start adding mass but I'm a little nervous about it since all I know is "lose lose lose". I plan to just keep creeping up my calories every couple of weeks until I find a point where I am making very small gains. Then ride it out. I'm am very fortunate to have you and the others to monitor and bounce ideas off of. Complete control! ;)

Are you maintaining strength during your cut??? I think for you that is the most important question :)

Some funny comments there. Brad. Take two days and eat 2700. You'll see that you survive it. Muad, my strength is rising in some exercises but most are static. It's fine during a cut. I don't expect to keep at the same level with a reduction in overall calories, particularly carbs. I have two 3000 calorie days on the 27th and 28th or thereabouts to make sur I have a good glycemic load and the hormones and leptin are still topped up. I'm looking forward to those days.

Your'e journal entries are an important reminder that once one gets down around their goal weight the job doesn't end thereā€¦ darn. Although I guess the good thing about FatSecret is that it can be kinda fun to keep tabs on oneself and each other. Glad I found this site and all the support from fellow members.

Waltzing to your goal weight. I like it, too!

Maud, I lost a good 15-20% on all of my big lifts (deads, squats, bench, shoulder press) by the end of my cut, now that Ive upped my fat intake and dropped my rep range down to 5-8 over the past 2 weeks, Ive already gained half of that 15-20% back. It doesnt stay gone for long, the muscle fibers are still there...they just get lazy and need a wake up call.
