Do you like my new avatar? It is the talking stick that was used (I believe) in the ceremony where the Nisga'a signed their treaty with the Government in 2000. Their territory was a great place to spend a couple of days. My hostess was extremely gracious.

My weight hasn't really taken a hit from the trip, so all things are on track for my 'cut' at the end of May. Unsure exactly how to approach it, but I believe I'll be calorie cycling and carb back loading for three weeks and then to maintenance for a week. I'll likely do that twice. At that point I will return to cycling at 2800 cals and see if I can go for an extremely slow weight gain. (1-2 pounds a month, max.) That should get me to next spring at somewhere around 180-185 pounds. It could be tough to keep it that tight and I will likely botch it from time to time, but I feel I'll have a lot more confidence after getting back down to around 170 pounds.

Make up your mind man. Lose, gain, lose, gain. Feel like I'm in some self-help meeting with the consistency quotes.

You're mean. :) It's a body. I have to deal with it as such. It's not a race car stripped down to one seat with the metal thinned with coca cola. I'm afraid the lose/gain process is very much a part of the weight lifting culture. I think we all need the consistency quotes.

Just loving to aggravate you. And I'm also jealous you're at a stage in your program you can focus on other things vs continual dieting. Coke thins metal? I knew it cleaned windshields.

I can't confirm it, but Bill told me that and I don't doubt it. I remember as a kid putting a nail in a glass filled with coke and the nail was corroding hard by evening and gone in the morning. I'd try it again, but that would mean buying a coke. :( Danger, danger.

You like coke I gather. Let's take Bill at his word. And on your past experiment. Imagine what it could do to your guts over time.

i use coke to clean out my drains at home lol.

I'm going to steal a few of those quotes!!! :-)

Hey guys have you lost weight with coke???I mean is it ok?

It's not something I would do, Sara, or try to do. Sugar, sodium, and advanced chemistry pumped into the bloodstream with carbonation? It's a recipe for fat gains.

Bill.... wonder who paid whom to make that statement. Soda better then water for weight loss???? What insanity. My niece married a guy who drinks at lest 12 cans of diet coke everyday and wonders why he can't lose weight because all he drinks is diet soda. ROFLMAO

100% on consistency! And if you're consistently foolish and chase the ideas that can't possibly work (like diet soda) you will get consistenly foolish results...like thighs that rub together!!!

Another cautionary note regarding diet colas: The Women's Health Inititative found diet cola increased stroke and kidney damage - at pretty low levels (more than one a day).

The way I stopped drinking diet cola was to just limit it to once a day, then five months ago I stopped it, by drinking a tea instead. I was concerned about the kidney irritation. Who needs that?

That study ( the one that sz diet pop is more effective then water for weight loss) was done by the American Beverage Association... um yeah.

Too funny (LOL)! Oh, maybe next we'll hear tales that the Amer Tobacco Assoc has proven evidence that tobacco + nicotine is great for the lungs and oral health. A-m-a-z-i-n-g!

NM,sounds like you are still going strong! :D Love your quotes, especially Abdul's & Collier's. Abdul's is one that's hit close to home for me these past months & has breathed *fresh* life back into me! Have been off FS for several reasons but am looking forward to getting myself in gear again :D BTW-love the bio update!

See... you guys don't take it far enough though. :) If you go to a surgeon, of course you need surgery. If you go to a doctor, of course you need a pill. If you hire a contractor to assess your retaining well, of course you need a new retaining wall. :D Cynical? You betcha! @Mya. Glad you're back. Watch for a new bio update. June 1 I start a new cut. Have about six pounds I want to shave off. I'll likely take a post bulk and post cut photo to compare as well, though the post bulk will go up at the same time. I'm figuring a couple of months to get rid of those six pounds. I also expect to see an initial loss that I'll have to factor in to figure out my goal weight, but I approach this with a bit of angst. I need to go through this cycle 5 or 6 times for it to become 'normal'. I love diet soda - it kills ants quite well though I still think cornmeal or alum work better. Actually, it seems corn kills just about everything.

I believe the biggest problem we have is that we rely far too much on 'experts'. It's the information age. Log on, wade through, find the truth for yourself. Read it all. Eventually, you find the thread of truth that runs through all information. That's where you begin.
