John10251's Journal, 05 Oct 21

Yesterday I had a doctor's appointment. I'm not complaining but aging can be challenging. We suddenly notice that everyone is younger and self-care is not getting easier. This time of year many seniors have to make choices about their healthcare and insurances. My phone is ringing off the hook with solicitors calling to get business for agents selling Medicare supplemental plans.

Yesterday I ate under goal, met my protein goal and all activity goals. 1259 kcal deficit // BF↓0.3% since Sunday and is in range // Sleep Goal met

Ah yes, it's not the best of times. But here we are (I'm much older than you) still chugging along. 🍁

They say to age is to be blessed. I lost my daddy before I ever should’ve. But, it hits you. I will be 41 soon, and my daughter is having a baby, my middle will be 18 in less than 4 years, and our baby, well isn’t a baby anymore. Our parents are in their 60’s and 70’s, and we worry. My grandma is on hospice. It’s scary. You are doing so wonderful, and you are strong💜💪

I'm with you on the Medicare scammers..I get phone calls all the time.. a funny story, when I turned 55 my husband bought me a beautiful Louis Vuitton purse and inside was a free membership to ARRP...he is quite the jokester🤣🤣🤣

Thanks, Bill I have already made my selections and they are still calling. They also use fake numbers in an attempt to hide who is calling. I agree it's best not to talk to them...

Sorry to hear about your Father. It is a blessing to age and I'm grateful to GOD for allowing me to see these years after retirement. This wonderful cycle of life is an amazing journey!!!

It is illegal for insurance agents to solicit business for Medicare Supplemental Insurance. Not that this will stop them, but if you happen to answer the phone, you can always say you are going to report them. Maybe they won't call back. Good luck.

Thanks, Erq1 my Wife gets a lot of the credit for our well-being. She prepares most of our meals and she makes healthy lifestyle choices. It's a blessing to have a partner who wants to stay active and maintain mobility...

Thanks, Diana the Medicare scammers call several times a day. Many of them use fake phone numbers. I don't know who I'm talking to so I never give them any of my information. It took me a few years before I joined AARP, now I get more advertisements from them than ever.

@Madogmolly, I think the way the callers skirt around the agents risking their license is to have an unlicensed person do the solicitations. I also think that is another reason that they are hiding their identity. They don't want the company's name associated with the solicitations...

AARP is no friend to RP. They sell your info. Don't answer calls if you don't recognize the #. Don't give your phone number out except to trusted contacts, otherwise use an old or fake #. Scammers keep changing their #s so caller ID is essential. I've done those things and never get solicitations by phone.
