Saaj92's Journal, 24 Feb 21

So this was the first time it dawned on me how much 'weight' can be gained during period time as I've been weighing more regularly. So week before last within the space of a week I gained 3kg. I was so gutted and didn't want to post on here. It started affecting me as I didn't understand how I gained so much in such a short space of time. I know I wasn't eating great (was craving sweets) and went over my daily calories of 1700 a few times, but I was still working out regularly. So it didn't explain a gain of 3kg!! That was when I realised how a woman's weight fluctuates during their menstrual cycle, and how they 'gain' due to bodily changes happening during that time. So last week I spent eating within my calories and worked out as usual and I'm back to the weight I was at. I need to give these numbers less importance!!
77.4 kg Lost so far: 24.6 kg.    Still to go: 9.4 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

I feel you! I am in the same position currently.. Seeing the scales higher is disheartening as I am still working out.. But once this week is over I am hoping it will come down🤞

My weight fluctuates rapidly depending on my time of the month. I’ve got pretty good at knowing when is my heavy week, when is my light week (I have one week every month the weight just drops off) and the other two weeks tend to be ‘normal’.

its the only thing I don't enjoy about these apps. I've set a weight goal on here but my goal is just to be more comfortable in my clothes.then ill go from there. don't let the sad step control you ,let it be about how u feel in yourself.you will get a more positive result

Thanks guys - yep definitely need to focus on the non-scale victories! As looking at progress pics, I can see a difference in my body from last month. Just an eye opener and a reassurance to realise it's okay and natural and not the end of the world!!

This is so true! My sister is a nutrionist and she has been monitoring me each cycle. Because of water retention you will puff up a bit, so she keeps telling me to keep hydrated. The week of my period I managed to keep my weight the same without any gain, I can't understand how I achueved this, but the week after I finished my period I lost 3lbs and that was mainly because I had finished my period and had the calorie deficit and shed that extra period weight
