Back on the downward track. I've not been dieting for a year now, and I have put most of my previous weight loss back on again. Although, I haven't been worrying about what I've been eating, I have still been sensible by most people's standards. I have it officially from the doctor on paper, that I have a slow metabolism and that I have borderline under active Thyroid. She is not going to give me any medication,.so I guess I have to struggle on with all my symptoms, including the difficulty in loosing weight.

I feel you Gilly, took me ages to get my thyroid diagnosed and then get the right level of medication and all the while I was soo tired, sleeping constant and piling on weight, the only advice I can give you is to keep track of your weight and food diary here for the next week or two and if ur still struggling pester your doctor and u have the proof to show him on here, hope u feel better soon ❤️🤗

Yes, thank you Bootylicious1. I will be doing that, but I fear that reducing calories to around 1200 does not work for me unless I also reduce carbs to under 20g. Over the last year of the pandemic, my partner and I have not had any social contact with anybody, apart from when we attended a funeral in Sept, and we have not seen friends or family for 18 months. We have got Through it by having nice food on supermarket deliveries, haven't been to the shops much. Although we have had 3 takeaway chinese on out birthdays and Christmas. I have not gone mad with food, keeping to porridge or special k with fruit topping, wholemeal pita bread with healthy fillings, low fat yoghurt, or occaaional Tunnocks tea cake or two jaffa cakes with afternoon tea, no other snacks. Home cooked from scratch healthy meals in the evenings. The Rule of 4 slices of wholemeal bread week, without any kind of butter or spread, cheese only once a week. Fish at least once a week, vegetarian based meal once a week Nothing fried except stir fried, or done in my air fryer with a couple of teaspoons of oil. At the weekends, Wine with our meal, maybe a brandy or gin afterwards and a couple of squares of 80% dark chocolate, or a few mixed nuts and raisins, and only 1 dessert per week. On that diet, I have managed to gain a stone in weight, and my Cholestrol is still at 6, despite being on 40mg Statin. To a lot of people, that would be a diet. At the moment, I can't cut carbs, because I need the vitimin C and a healthy diet, because I have had skin cancer on my face and I have a long scar which has to heal well, although I am going to have to have more skin removed again soon. All I can do at the moment is cut portions, cut all treats including bread, etc, and struggle on, and record everything here. but I might ask to see my doctor, ask for a nutritional appointment and try and push towards being put on Thyroid meds.

Gilly first let me say how brave u have been dealing with a skin cancer diagnosis and then going through treatment, that must have been really scary and u should be so proud of yourself, u are stronger than u think and an inspiration to others. And to deal with all that and a pandemic and not be able to have it loved ones close to u during that time.....amazing♥️ You and ur partner are doing amazing at keeping not only yourseves, but others safe too, it's so difficult not seeing family, I can't see mine either, but I commend u both for sticking to it. As for ur eating habits...u are basically already dieting and still putting on weight, I was exectly the same, it's so frustrating and depressing. I used to see the same doctor 'A' all the time but was fed up getting nowhere so when I phoned them back I asked for a call back from doctor 'B'...who totally understood and sent my bloods to be reviewed by a specialist because I was still having all the symptoms. Maybe u should ask for a differt doctor? But keep pushing!! I hope u feel better soon, big hugs 🤗❤️
