We had a day like that -- cooked cakes for a charity cake sale, tried one to make sure it was ok -- seriously, that was why -- then went to a duck race and everyone was given pasties and if you put one in my hand, I will eat it, and then we went on to the cake sale where it would've been churlish not to buy one, and then there's a lemon curd cake with clotted cream IN MY HAND, so, y'know... and today I had a 3 y/o's birthday cake because it would be downright awful not to. No choice involved. I may be doomed to be lardy, living here, with lovely friends.
