Things have been going very slowly, but the trend is still in the right direction. Much of the last few months has involved wading through treacle with the NHS trying to get some help with my bad knee which is causing a lot of problems and blocking most forms of exercise. I've been blocked from doing any cardio since all the medical issues started in February, although I am trying to keep going with weight training on the upper body.

The main issue is that my knee is now well and truly b*gg*r*d. The joint is popping apart randomly, often multiple times a day. It is extremely painful and I usually end up flat on my face when it happens. There's been a whole sorry saga of mis-diagnosis which caused the local hospital to treat me as someone with arthritis, while I kept arguing that I needed to see someone in their knee clinic as this is a longstanding injury coming back with a vengence. In the end I paid to see one of the knee specialists privately. Whaddayouknow? I have a longstanding knee injury described as being in crisis and in urgent need of surgery.

That at least finally got me referred back into the right care pathway, but 3+ months after this started I'm still waiting for the appointment at the knee clinic to start to get this fixed and they are not in any hurry to see me. I was supposed to have that appointment tomorrow, but the mysterious powers that be cancelled it late last week and gave me a new date in July. At this rate I will be lucky if I get as far as surgery this side of Christmas. It's also leaving me massively depressed as I am feeling pretty much cornered and rather scared by not only what is going on, but the whole prospect of surgery. I just want them to get on with this rather than dragging it out further.
