John10251's Journal, 16 Jan 19

Well, things are getting interesting watching my body respond to diet and exercise. Post holiday and winter recovery is going slower than I expected but well. I have had to back down my calorie intake to control body fat gains. This has made it difficult to hit my protein intake goal. Currently my protein goal is relatively high for my body weight but desired by me because I'm seeing muscle gains from resistance training.

Yesterday I ate under goal, met my current protein goal and all activity goals. BF down .3% and back in range.

Agreed John, protein is pretty key on a calorie restricted intake, especially when working out,...muscle is so hard to grow (even maintain) at our age too. Good luck mate!!

Thanks Steven, the lifting is paying off and I want to keep it going as long as possible. I was in the gym the other day and the guy on the bench next to me was said he was excited about turning eighty soon. We had a similar conversation about the effects of age, diet and exercise. You are doing great and an inspiration for me and others. Now, if I only had the funds to go the places you are able to go and do some of the things you do. Keep enjoying your life!!!

Thanks John for the kind words...for adventure funding I subscribe to the SKI (spend kids inheritance) investing philosophy...:-) My fun "bad habits" are relatively frugal compared to some friends and also really keep me motivated week in and week out to keep on top of things.
