The scales say I have lost weight. This cheers me up greatly, although I know that there is always going to be variation between individual readings and that it is a general downward trend I am looking for. Still a lower reading than yesterday cheers me up.

It will be interesting to see what effect all the 'college lunches' have on diet success/failure. They are part of my overall pay & benefits package, so I am reluctant to pass on them, but by the same token I have absolutely no control in what the kitchen produces each day and how many calories are in it.
