Day 4 of a planned 5 day fast

I can't believe I lost another pound. I look in the mirror and I look so skinny that if it weren't for this desire to hit my BMI weight of 164 I would stop trying to lose weight right now.

I am happy my stomach is starting to disappear. While, I would rather have it disappear through exercise, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't also like to sit back and have it disappear next week! :)

Next week may be my last 5 day fast. This weekend, I plan to have my lowest carb refeed (the time I eat after fasting) ever. @PrincessValerie made me carry a heavy rack of ribs back from the grocery store last night (because, yes we walk everywhere now!). We planned our food for the weekend, and If I stick to the plan I will be <20 a day during my refeed. I have only ever had one day, where I was eating, that I had less than 20 carbs.

So, if I am able to not gain any weight on this refeed (I was able to do this last weekend), next week I may be able to hit 164.

Then I will stop. I never plan to hit that weight ever again in my life. I'm not sure if I plan to even hit the weight I am at now ever again. As a guy who has been obese all his adult life, it is surreal to look in the mirror and say "I'm done!".

awesome game plan, looks like you got everything covered with the help of your wife. You can feast to your hearts content on keto meals this weekend!

@baskington - That is the plan! With Keto I can 'eat until I'm full' and not wake up to a 3-4 pound gain (like it has been with all my previous refeeds). Also, because we (and by 'We' I mean 'She') are cooking everything, I do not have to deal with the hunger spikes that I get from processed foods (is there anything that comes 'in a wrapper' that does not have carbs?)

This is awesome!! Good for you! It sounds like your wife joining you on this quest has really helped you. Wish I had someone planning and cooking for me😉 and encouraging me.

@Phil - Thanks Phil. Your continued example is giving me hope for 'maintenance'. You shared how you 'got off track' but then got back. I have been thinking about this a LOT. Currently, I am leaning toward trying fasting a few days a week. Fasting is something I have been able to do and enjoy doing. Eating more on my eating days to balance it out may be the ticket. It may not :(

You and PrincessValerie are doing awesome! Keep it up.

@momma6224 - Yes, I am very blessed. I am basically lazy and enjoy not 'having to think' and just eat what is fed to me :) This is why fasting works for me, I don't have to 'think' just 'not eat'.

There's a plan called 5:2 you might be interested in, member FiveTwoCowboy had a lot of success doing it. Check 5:2 Fast Diet, there should be some info.

@Mjgh06 - Thanks! And I appreciate all the Atkins/Keto people helping her out!

@Phil - I just checked it out. My only modification I think I will try is no 'solid food' on 'fast days'. I will easily take in the recommended 600 calories on fast days (I do that now), but solid food is a mental trigger for me :(

Yeah, I'm with you on that. When I fast, I mean it. lol It's all about tailoring things to yourself.

You are amazing baby! I am so proud of you and you are an inspiration to me. I can't be fat when my hubby has the body of a 19 year old! I love you!
