I'm recording a weight of 142lbs today, that's up two pounds on the 140 that I've been posting the last couple of weeks. However of course we've had New Year since I last weighed in, so weight has been higher, but now is down to 142 and has stayed the same for a few days. It's nothing to worry about, it just IS. I think it has stayed up because I have increased my intake slightly, so my glycogen stores have gone up, and water with them, even though I have been doing my usual exercise. My salt intake has also been higher the last few days, so that's another reason for water to be up. I have had a calorie deficit every day since new year, however, so it is not fat!

Would you believe I have actually been finding it difficult to eat extra this week? I keep eating small treats to try and increase calories, and then finding I'm still on the low side! Definitely a nice problem to have though, and I will keep working on it!

I'm posting this weight because I think it may reflect my 'new normal' in terms of water levels. I don't propose to change anything, however. If I reduced calories, there would be a sudden drop, but the weight would only return when I increased them again, so I might as well stick with my plan as per last journal. After all, the aim now is to lose very slowly, and I need to know whether the RDI that I've set is going to achieve this, so there's no point in messing about with intake levels at this time.

On the plus side, we went out for a nice lunch yesterday, just because it was a nice day, and we fancied it. Firstly, it was nice just to be able to do that without worrying about the effect it would have on my diet, and secondly, it was amazing to get on the scales this morning, and find that weight was actually the same as the day before - no gain at all!

I'm adding a 'before and after' pic. The 'before' was taken a couple of months before I started on FS. It was hard to find a decent 'before' pic, because I used to always cover up to hide it, and also deleted a lot of pics that showed how fat I was! Anyway, I'm very pleased with the 'new me' 😀
