heidij123's Journal, 05 Dec 16

I did some fat measuring today using the callipers. Here are the results, compared with previous results:

Just measured body fat again with the callipers. Here are the results compared with last time:

..........................13/1/16...13/2/16...5/12/16
Triceps...................18............18............15
Suprailiac...............10..............9.............7
Thigh......................28............24............23

Weight (lbs).........153.0......149.5......141.8
Body fat %..............26.1........24.6........22.8

Fat mass (lbs)........39.9........36.7.........32.4
Lean mass (lbs)...113.1......112.3......109.6

I'm still not sure about how accurate the measurements are, or how good the calculation is. I used the body fat calculator at bodybuilder.com/fun/how-to-measure-your-body-fat, as before. It's showing a trend, anyway 😀

And, encouragingly, I am now about a quarter of the way into the 'healthy' zone! My BMI works out at 23.6, which seems to confirm this, and waist measurement is also good 😀 But I want to be more in the middle of the healthy range, to make sure that occasional gains won't push me up into 'overweight' again, so onwards and downwards 😀😀😀

That's exactly what made me press on as well; in my case, not wanting even my "bloatiest" of days to go over 23, (which is why I'm still eating at a small deficit for a little while even if I'm at goal...I want the average to be the goal as well, which means sticking with it a wee bit longer!) Congratulations on the nice numbers as well. :-)

RGG, I see your point. The whole maintenance thing is starting to worry me again. I know what I'm like, and any excuse to overeat I think I'll go crazy, like, you know, thinking stuff like: 'Oh, I reached my goal, that means I can eat whatever I want,' munch munch munch. And drink whatever I want too, I suppose. I would need some kind of lobotomy to stop having those kind of thoughts. With me it's always, 'What can I get away with now?' That's why I make up these strict rules, and publish them, so that I'd feel such a fool if I didn't do what I said! But I'm looking at 135, and thinking I can't go lower than that, so 135 will be my bottom marker, and I'll try and stay under 140, and if I go over 140, there's going to have to be some rules about some strict 'dieting' again. Still wishing I had your patience and quiet determination. Hope you're okay today, still sad I'm sure. Hugs xxx

Phooka and Mrs M, I wish I had a full set of starting numbers going back to last June! But yes I am pretty pleased with my numbers now, and thanks 😁😁😁 I think it's good to share success, and glad to have some to share. But still plodding on....

I don't understand all about the numbers, but they are all getting smaller which is a good thing for sure. Good job!
