heidij123's Journal, 30 Oct 16

I have succeeded in my aim of increasing exercise this week, hooray! But I think I want to push the weight loss just a little bit faster if I can, so have decided to also cut intake by about 100 calories a day. It's not a lot, but over time it will add up, and I don't think I'll find it too difficult as I'm often finding towards the end of the day that I'm eating stuff just because I've got the calories allocated, even though I don't feel hungry. I've reduced my RDI, and set myself a personal challenge to do this for four weeks, and after that time I'll make a decision as to whether I want to continue.

The four weeks includes my week's holiday in Ibiza, as I think at the moment I would rather lose some weight than stuff my face. I can still have a good time, and I can still enjoy my food. We're staying half board in a hotel, which for me will be easier than eating in restaurants. It will be buffet meals, so I can just pick the food I want to eat, in the quantities I want. And it will be lovely to not have to shop, prepare meals and wash up 😁 Besides which the main objectives for me are not culinary, it's more about getting away from routine and seeing some different places. We've hired a car, and intend to get around and see most of the island. Lots of walking too, of course! I can't wait 😀

Some people avoid buffets like the plague, but I like them. I find that there is always something on there that fits my WOE and I control the portion. When ordering off the menu they bring the plate full of food and I have a hard time leaving any behind because it feels like I am wasting food. Good luck with your 4 week goal. I have no doubt you can do it.

Sounds like a great holiday in the making. Not keen on buffets. But I am referring to a typical party buffet here with pork pies, assorted sandwiches and crisps Your calorie plan sounds like a great idea. Happy days

What I love most about this post is when you said you would rather lose weight than eat! You have grown so much and your plan sounds like a great one to me :d The vacation sounds lovely, enjoy!

Thanks all. I agree, Mrs M, I hate those party buffets. Best to eat before you go.

:) :) :) HeidiJ didn't say that she would rather lose weight than eat - she said she would rather lose weight than stuff her face. I was also really impressed with that comment - in fact the whole plan kit and caboodle sounds great to me, wish you all the best HeidiJ and have a great holiday however you do it.

What part of Ibiza are you staying in? We were there at the end of September and stayed in Portinax. The food was good and the wine was like rocket fuel.

Staying on the beach near to Ibiza town, it's only 20 minutes walk to the old town. We also have a car hired so we can explore the island. We like getting around and seeing things. Most of our holidays involve touring, under our own steam. We have a camper van that gets plenty of use, and tend to hire cars when we go somewhere that we can't take it. Used to do a lot of backpacking in the past 😀

We went to old Ibiza town on the bus and it was cheap and great to see part of the countryside. We walked all the way to the top where the fort/church and let say my heart rate went up to 181 bpm. It was worth it. After we had a beer because it started raining!!
