JockoT's Journal, 23 Aug 16

Started my new job on Monday and it is all go from 8am to 5pm. Monday I didn't get my lunch until I got home. Today I had it, on the trot, at 2.45pm. I am coming home, starving and quite tired. I am working 5 days next week, and I can work this Thursday and Friday if I want. My wife is on holiday for the rest of this week so I will have to discuss it with her. So much for a part time job!
Managed to sell my old Volvo last night. First guy who came to see it bought it. The power of Gumtree.

Glad the new job is keeping you on your toes and glad you managed to sell your Volvo, although I know you didn't want to really. Hope you get used to your replacement. Make sure you grab a bite to eat mid-day. You don't want to be starving when you get home.

I'm pleased for you about the job. Now you will have to focus so much harder on those calories, carbs, fat etc to keep the faith. Water is key to you. If you don't drink you WILL snack on bad food - it's inevitable. My tip for your new job would be to carry a cheap resuseable supermarket 500ml bottle, one with a resealable sport nozzle. Frequent sips Jocko. Good luck with everything.

Aww, the Volvo is gone. At least you didn't have to show it many times. Gumtree must be like our craigslist. Have a great week with the new job!

As of tomorrow I will be out on a van on my own so drinks and snacks will be easier.

I hope you can get into a good routine with the eating. Be careful of grabbing snacks at petrol stations. They have mostly bad stuff in there! Supermarkets tend to have better lunch options if you look for them, and the area where they keep them is right by the entrance, so quick and easy to access. Also you can park better there. Are you just driving in the local area? What kind of deliveries are you doing? Take care, no bumps, and watch your food and exercise. Van drivers tend to put on weight! Hx

I cover about a 10 or 12 mile radius from Kirkcaldy (more an arc, as we are on the coast). I deliver motor spares to local garages - and there are dozens of them. Most seem to be hidden away, and can be a real pig to find. I am on my own as of tomorrow. Two half days this week then full time next week. The guys do about 35,000 miles a year in that small area. They know it like the back of their hand.

JockoT I travel quite a bit for work too and know how hard it can be to eat healthy but good luck to you and well done for dieting while taking on a new job.
