cindylynnwho's Journal, 03 May 23

My anxiety has been strangely high lately, and I’m working on it to avoid it messing up my diet or making me unproductive at work.

My fiancé went out of town for the week with one of our dogs (the other one is coughing) and I will miss them but it does make meal planning less complicated.

I’m happy that I’ve got my bridesmaids lined up for my wedding. I am lucky to have a lot of wonderful females in my life and had an agonizing time choosing but finally made decisions I’m happy with. Wedding planning is going much more smoothly than it was before the hurricane. I’m finding it a fun distraction from hurricane recovery.

I have not been to the gym yet this week but the second half of my week will be very athletic!

Have a great evening FS fam 🤗

You're always so calm when you write -- I'm a little surprised that you suffer any anxiety at all. Have you had more caffeine or sugar than usual?

Thanks JB! I guess my anxiety hides in the back of my brain, not the front lol. I do have a caffeine addiction I’m trying to quit. I think I may also be triggered by my bio family’s issues lately.

Can’t believe I wasn’t invited to be a bridesmaid…..

ROFL daddy manatee, any way I picked the bridesmaids, I knew someone was gonna be pissed! 😉😃😂

I understand, but it still hurts😉 Glad to hear the plans are coming together. A good friend of my wife is getting married end of June and she asked me to MC her wedding reception. Any tips on how to do that?! Absolutely no idea what I will be doing.

Glad things are coming together for you! 💜💜

Daddy manatee hm that’s a good question. I wasn’t planning on having an MC. I am going for simple and affordable. You could sign on to one of the popular wedding forums… vent about not being my bridesmaid and ask about how to MC 😉😂 the ones I use are Zola.com theknot.com and WeddingWire.com

Have you tried breathing techniques for anxiety and stress reduction? They have been huge for me. Andrew Huberman of Huberman Lab has a great podcast and there is an episode focused strictly on breathing. Here’s the clip of the anxiety and stress relief breath techniques https://youtu.be/kSZKIupBUuc Here is the entire episode. There are techniques for pretty much every situation including post workout muscle recovery https://youtu.be/x4m_PdFbu-s

Thank you cheesegobbler! Yes planning a wedding has improved my mood but increased my anxiety because there’s always too much to do. I am feeling a lot better today though

Thank you reverse cosmosis! I actually have worked as a therapist so I have taught breathing techniques to many. I typically do them on my drive home from work but sometimes I work at home and slack off on breathing exercises. I can’t click the links you sent on my app but will try later on the desktop. Sounds like this huberman guy knows some techniques I don’t so I appreciate your sharing!

I am so sorry to hear about the anxiety Cindylynn. The things I've done for anxiety over the years (had a nervous breakdown in 2009) are: 1. going to bed for anxiety attacks, and letting my body process the chemicals, and expose the thoughts as it goes. crying and sleeping are two amazing good quality cures for anxiety issues. 2. b complex vitamins, c avoiding sugar (not carbs in this context, just sugar), d. talk therapy. Of all of them, lying in bed, feeling my feelings, earthing the electric shock of it all, and crying out the chemicals has been the most effective. :)
