CatHerder's Journal, 14 Jun 15

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

I ran my long run yesterday morning. By the time I got out it was already in the mid 70's with about 75% relative humidity. I was out for 90 minutes but had to run/walk the last 15. I know I'm running to fast but am having difficulty pacing myself. I ran for a total of 7.65 miles at an average pace of 11:46/mile. That included the time I was in the run/walk mode. My first mile was under 10 minutes.

I've been eating fairly well but my weight hasn't been moving. We did go out for pizza on Friday night since we forgot to take anything out for dinner. I see the doctor tomorrow so we'll see if I've lost any weight according to his scale. I didn't eat to well this morning as I had left over pizza for breakfast. It just seems that my body is winning this battle. I know I'm eating more carbs for my running and am probably retaining more water with the extra glycogen. I also know if I go low carb again my running will fall off.

I hope everyone has a terrific day!

It really is a delicate balance, isn't it? Since I have gotten keto-adapted, my body burns dietary fat and then my stored body fat. It amazes me how much energy I get when I fuel my workouts with fat. Glad you are thinking about what fuels your runs - you are doing so well.
