cindylynnwho's Journal, 30 Dec 22

New years goals include going back in a plant based direction, reducing alcohol, and reading more, among other things. Here’s Fidget with my current book. I’m going with my dad tomorrow to his 50th park run. He can finally buy the 50 runs t-shirt he wants!

Those are wonderful goals, Cindy!💚 Do you have a reading list? I reserve eBooks with my local library (download them to Kindle or wherever), and they have a Wish List section that I store my future selections to signout. Libraries also carry cookbooks -- try before you buy -- which has led me to buy favorite hardcopies from Amazon, since I like to write comments in the margins. Re: your dad -- how old is he? Such a wonderful example of leading by example, no matter what age category!

JB I have a book problem. I like to buy them but don’t read all the time like I did when I was younger so I haven’t kept up with the ones I’ve bought. I just want to be consistently reading again. I don’t want to try a list for the year because I tend to be impulsive on what I want to read so just sticking to one book to the end is good. But your planning system sounds good. Nice that your library gives you a wish list. I had too many paper books but I lost a lot of them in hurricane Ian. So it will be easier to catch up on them now. My dad is 80. Due to copd he is a walker now instead of a runner but it’s awesome that he is still focused on fitness. He is often the oldest participant there. Park run is great because it has the excitement and comraderie of a race without the fees or the pressure. It would be nice to get one going in my hometown.

Fritzy that’s awesome. We have three cats and two chihuahuas, only one tuxedo. He’s super sweet and super bratty, all rolled into one 😂

Jb that’s a good idea about trying cookbooks at the library. I’ve got my eye out for new vegan cookbooks. (I have a few but just looking for new inspiration)

Cookie + Kate is one of my favorite recipe websites - she's vegetarian but gives tips to veganize them, and she sticks to mostly whole foods: https://cookieandkate.com/best-ratatouille-recipe/
