JustBananas's Journal, 01 Dec 22

Dear December,

Lovely to see you again, but there is much to do in your 31 days. I am faced with 8 extra pounds that I did not carry when we started 2022. This is unacceptable and embarrassing, and I take full responsibility for my August & September slack.

The belt will be tightened a bit and instead of snuggling in throw blankets, there will be various calisthenics to keep warm. A space has already been cleared for jumping jacks and planks and funky dance moves. Sweat, not shivers.

Monitoring weigh-ins for each of your 4 weeks, December, to stay focused. See you Saturday morning for our first.

Sincerely,
🍌🍌

Yes, @Abba! End of the year just arrived so fast for me, and there's no way I want to finish heavier than when I started in January🫢 Two pounds a week is a tall order, but mathematically possible, so I'll take those odds. 👁️🏆

@Breezy💚 Don't forget the Binx PM -- I trust there's no change for her?😿

2lbs per week at your weight is tough but possible. If you want it, you will get it. Good luck!

You can do it!

@Daddy & @Morticia: I've been tracking my calories for the past couple of weeks (which I loathe doing) because I am THAT committed to beating down this fat. Even bought new batteries for the kitchen and bathroom scales.

I am 15 kg (more than 30 pound) over compared to mid 2021. Realization last weekend made me start working on it on Nov 26th. I cannot reach my goal weight by nye but damn I wanna get closer to it. We should start a challenge!

@Ginome: My apartment is not heated (it has heating, but would cost $$$, so I wear lots of layers), so my plan is to jump up every 10-15 and do some exercises. Use my own fuel instead of electricity or blankets. @Sugar: I already got into things, just planning to formally record my weight on Saturdays, beginning on 12/2. @Marble: You are welcome to start a challenge! I don't do well adhering to anyone's but my own, as I've come to learn on FS. And don't sweat it if you don't make the January 1st deadline -- the important thing is that you are making a dent on those 15 kg already!👁️🏆

JB -- my first winter together with my husband, we relied on the ambient heat from the other apartments and a small space heater that we plugged into the hall outlet outside our door that wouldn't show up on our bill. One morning, my husband was at work when I went to unplug it. Accidentally let the door slam shut, and found myself locked out of my apartment wearing nothing but long underwear 🤣 I feel ya on the layers. We keep our house at 62

And a note of encouragement: I absolutely KNOW you can do this 😃

@Wyo: Thank you for your confidence💚. My apt is a corner unit and on the ground floor, so sadly my neighbors are not helping. During the day it's no biggie, as it stays around 65-70 F. But once the sun goes down, I will wrap up in 3-4 layers, plus fingerless gloves and a knit cap or hoodie. This unit has the most inefficient heating system on the planet. I have a small space heater that I'll turn on for 30 minutes a dozen times a year. If I actually suffered hot flashes I would probably love it.🥵.
