Week update.

Not a long weekend here in Canada. We had ours last week. I did a few days of keto this week and then got back into eating maintenance. Active week.

Did my first try on finding a good protein bar to make and I think I may have lucked out. I made one which combined protein powder, almond meal and oats and hit the spots for something to have with coffee while on the go.

I saw that costco will have a sale on Robert Irvine's protein bar next week. I am thinking of getting a box and try them out. Anyone had them?

Looks tasty. There are so many tasty protein bars these days.

Convenience is nice. Robert Irvine stuffed more protein into those bars than I did in mine. But I have more fiber and less chemicals. It is a tradeoff. There are probably better bars out there but I have to take affordability into account

I think compared to absolute junk, this is a good choice!

Yes liv. Share the recipe. I’ve been curious about those bars at Costco too. On sale here now. The cal count is higher than I like for a ‘bar.’ And can’t have the pb at home. 🥴 I’d love to have your recipe. They look good.

Wait. The cals are only 190 on the box you show. I’m sure when I looked at Costco, it was more like 350??!!

I haven't had them but the one you made looks good 👍

I used this recipe https://www.runningtothekitchen.com/triple-chocolate-protein-cake-bars/ (but used two eggs, no eggwhites, and added a bit of extra oat fiber with the oat meal, added no nuts or chocolate chips.

Wifey the ones here ate the ones at 190 cals, agreed that 350 would be too much for a quick snack type of item. Next week seems to protein bar sale week at costco they also have cliff bars (the builder ones) and no sugar keto bars.

Sadyannm, thanks. They were easy to make.

Thank you Liv!

Oh I love the builder clifs. Already saw they’re going on sale. I always buy them but usually eat half a bar at a time. Sometimes a full bar, depends!
