HELP!!!!

I think I need some carbs later, a lot of them.

I am very full now (811 kcal, RDI 45% as of 3:11), but I am worried that when I get home I am going to blow it. I am at 74.69 carbs for the day and I want to be around 100 carbs total for the day(this will be 1/2 of what I had and I did come down in weight with that large amount). I am willing to get on the treadmill again, I did 3.5 miles this morning before 4:30 AM and can do another 3.5 miles before dinner. I have already climbed up 462 stairs. What should I do? My calories were below my RDI yesterday and beleive I can stay below today as well. Help? Suggestions anyone?

If I eat the carbs and now one is watching, that doesn't count right?

One hundred grams of carbs is incredibly low for the amount of activity youre doing. My advice?? When you get home, if you feel like you're starving to death just chose a balanced plate. Healthy carbs, proteins and fats. You are jumping back in with both feet, and that's great, but your body does need sustenance to repair and adjust. It's not all or nothing, if you must carb you must carb. In over one hundred pounds of weight lost I don't think I ever had a day under one hundred grams of carbs, but that's just me. Every 'body' is different. The battle will not be lost in one meal on one day. You're doing great :)

That music to my ears Yolanda9179. I just checked my ratio and noticed that my protein intake was very low so far for the day. I will get that up tonight to help my muscles repair and rebuild. OK ChrisSpark, If I don't tell and you don't tell then the carbs shouldn't count((IF if only worked that way))

I never look at how many carbs I eat and I still lose weight, go for it.

Hmmnn, interesting Snezica. Exercise and staying below my RDI, I will continue....cautiously.

I never look at carbs either. That said almost all of my carbs are fruit/veg or dairy. And I've lost 91 pounds since March.

I also tried low carb and keto in the past, but nothing got me so far as just simple calorie counting.

If you're worried about carbs specifically, I'd say try making a ham sandwich and substitue lettuce for the bread (like a wrap). Another option would be to make an actual sandwich using whole wheat bread. That will give you protein (assuming there's meat) as well as complex carbs (from the wheat bread) which will take your body longer to break down. There's quite a few things you can do with 25 carbs. :)

Try to have cup of hot tea with 1 spoon of honey.. It takes time to drink hot tea so brain might adjust to that craving of carbs. I should remember this tomorrow coz i have exactly same problem..i'm doing well while at work but after i get home and have my dinner i go binge 'carbing'. Also keeping busy helps to me...

If you want to add carbs and protein for dinner, you could always do a yummy omelette with sautéed veggies (onions, peppers, maybe broccoli and cheese). The onions have a decent amount of carbs and it will all be nutritious which is definitely where you want to aim :)

Ches, a suggestion not really about carbs specifically but...I'd recommend getting your protien higher. One of the things to try and avoid is losing lean body mass and you'll do a better job of maintaining it with .6 to .75 grams of protien/lb of body weight per day. As for carbs, complex carbs are better than simple ones so those from veggies, fruits and some whole grains are best. Personally I do best with weight loss if I keep carbs around 125 a day...lower is better for me but harder to do.

One more thing - fiber one makes some high fiber, high protein, low carb wraps to use instead of bread. If you have Giant grocery stores they have a lavash flatbread that does the same thing, I make a sandwich / wrap with one or the other most days.

and also get your healthy fats higher. The RDI should be high enough to get fat cals in by dropping breads and grains and cereals.

Wow, lots of great suggestions. Just waking up from a 1hr 40 min commute to my neck of the woods. I will be sure to post what I finally ate later. I think I will make it. Thanks so much everyone.

Glad to hear I am not the only one up at 4:00 am to get in exercise. I actually cook my lunch at this time and pack in lunch box.(Smile reminds me when I was a kid and Mom packed dads and my lunch). Suggestion take a look at Jillian Michaels book "Slim for life" its on a CD so you can also listen to it. Some very helpful hints. Are you taking Vitamin supplements? Vitamin D also helps with keeping you weight down as well as fiber supplements follow as directed on the packaging. Don't go overboard a little works a lot, also if you are drinking coffee try to drink it black without sugar or cream. I know that sounds terrible but if you try a better coffee you get use to it. I personally like coffee from Hawaii. (Great place for a vacation, I recommend Maui if you want to just kick back and relax without all of the tourist. ) Gotta get going time to leave for work. Tell me how the tips work out.
