Been very stressed and overate a lot... Also been on holiday for a week away so haven't weighed myself for 10 days or so. Anyone got any tips on how to not be so scared of the scales...?

I give it a couple of days of eating properly to let the body settle a bit.

Hey lovely. I have been scared of the scales for as long as I can remember but that changed 3 months ago. how? they are just an indicator and you don't need to log your weight every time you go on the scales. I have been up 4 times in the last 4 months but you know what my graph show a steady decline with all the arrows pointing down. 😊 there was a 3 week period of no loss but the day in dropped I looked my weight. look at your graph for motivation. good luck and remember a holiday with good memories and good food is FAR more important than the number on the scales. xx

The best tip i found was to weigh every morning, your weight will be up and down each day and you won't get that initial excitement you do when you have lost a good bit but it also trains your mind to not get so dissapointed when you put on because as i said your weight goes up and down each day anyway, also when you weigh if you have tiles like i do make sure you pick a tile and stick to it as the simplest of one tile being out more than another can make the scales read wrong same applys for wooden floors etc pick a spot and stick to it!! 😁 you can then move to every week it cured my phobia of the scales and i don't beat myself up so much hope this helps x

I did noom for a short while and daily weighing is key to that program. Previously, like you, but now i still weigh every morning, no clothes, straight out of bed. Takes a week or so to stop dreading it but really helps me. I see lots of little ups & downs and it helps me to keep some control. I also try to record caliries even if im wildly in excess. Nothing works for everybody and we're all different. really like this free app!

I also weigh everyday first thing in the morning without clothes. I count calories and I just find that this all works for me. I’ve a total of 3st 12lbs off. I took a stone off before joining FatSecret and that is my total weight loss. Weighing every morning means I’m on top of any changes before they get out of control. Best wishes.
