Day 5

Logging, Logging, Logging. Nothing exciting.

Update:
Sleep sucked 2 days in a row. Heading west soon with 8 oz more coffee and a shot of espresso in it or else I will fall asleep in broad daylight on the highway.

--I believe most of struggles with excess weight is that I over eat and have sleep
issues (My two cents)
--I wonder if I over eat because my mind is not all there because I am exhausted and
I can't focus and just shove things (FOOD!!!) in my mouth?

Happy Tuesday

Many years ago I read in one of Dr. Atkins own books, "Once you have a weight problem, you will always have a weight problem." I did not want to accept that!! No way!!! I would lose weight and solve it, once and for all! Well 30 years after I gradually gained 50 excess pounds, and since twice lost and regained 30 pounds, I have come to accept what Atkins said. He further said, basically, once you lose the excess you will always have to keep yourself in check. If you gain more than a few pounds, get back on a program. I'm sure some people lose the excess and thereafter can trust themselves to eat appropriately but they are unusual - and statistics back that up. I've been through the "negotiating stage" for 30 years and now I've come to "acceptance" that nothing will be accomplished unless I'm 100% on board. Forever.

I will tell you Ches I am learning portion control again, which is the toughest. I remember weight watchers had taught me that many years ago. Being retired from the government office atleast has eliminated snack machines and cafeteria food. Those were 2 big nemesis for the diet. And ofcourse the stress and co worker annoyance eating.

I agree with you about the correlation between sleep issues and overeating. I’ve used lavender too. 🤔

Both are issues when it come to the weight. You are not alone. But through it all, you have to keep trying things that will start to work for you. Always keeping in mind there is no one size fits all on this journey. I know this to be true. So I'm still looking and I will find it, at least I believe I will lol. You just hang on in there. Here's to safe travel, Rest and focus. Take care.

I also hear you about the coffee. I tried a couple times to give up my diet pepsi. Thats one vice i can't give up. Try to destress your self. I know traffic is aggravating, i got spoiled during the height of covid with traffic being cut down. But now traffic is back full speed ahead. You have always been a champion on this website!!! 🙂🙂🙂🙂
