John10251's Journal, 07 Apr 21

Yesterday I was having some repairs done to my car. I'm always bored in the waiting room and since it was such a beautiful day, I decided to walk. I didn't do as much running as usual because I didn't want to walk back into the dealership all sweaty and stinky, but I maintain a good pace. Nearby, about 3/4 of a mile is a huge office park. It has about ten 6-story office buildings, three large ponds and walking trails connecting the buildings. Some parts of the trails were beautifully landscaped and some areas were wooded. One thing I like about my walk/runs is that I can do them anywhere and anytime. No special equipment is needed. I can be out driving with a little extra time and get out of the car and get busy. Although, I thought yesterday's walk was special and enjoyable, it just happened...
Yesterday I ate under goal, met my protein goal and all activity goals. 1444kcal deficit // BF unchanged // BW↓0.2#

I do the same thing. Southern California Traffic is so unreliable that I always leave early for appointments, so more often than not I have 15-20 minutes to kill so I walk

Very nice! Sometimes when I really don’t want to walk my little dog insists that I do.

I’m jealous John, it takes me an hour just to “motivate” myself to take my walk. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Nice! Enjoy! I should walk more too. Walk plenty when I’m loading but it’s more of a shuffle rather than an outright continuous stride. I put my Fitbit back on the other day just to see what it might say about my steps. You ever hear complaints about accuracy on steps and HR stats as compared to other devices?

Beautiful!!! That's a great way to wait and get your exercise in!!!

Thanks, Rosie, Jimmiepop, Jenny, Augusta, Kenna, Diehard3, Sarah, Brendadb, Ccandco, Brandylentz, Tahoebrun, Katsolo, Andrew, 60Pack and Bearnoggin!!! I appreciate everyone's comment. I used to make sales calls in that complex of buildings from time to time and took it all for granted. I'm glad I visited those grounds again...

Drew idk either. I have gotten credit for steps playing the guitar. It seems more accurate when walking or running...

@john and Hebrews yes! I can get 15k steps sitting behind the steering wheel of my truck. It does seem more accurate in different activities. Wish they made a chest strap that would attach for better HR accuracy

Walking and being part of nature does as much for our mental health as our physical health.
