John10251's Journal, 02 Dec 20

I realize that my Total Gym is not the type of equipment that body builders use but it has helped me reach my calories burned goal so many times during this pandemic. Activity does count. Yesterday I ate well at 100% of goal, slightly exceeded my protein goal and met all activity goals. BF↓0.2% // BW↓1.4#

Can't be all bad if Chuck Norris uses it

What's that old saying "A journey of a 1000 miles begins with just 1 step". The is no fitness equipment or gym, ect out there that's worth a damn if it's not used, so be proud of what you have and what you are able to achieve.

take a look at Skyler King's channel on YouTube. He has taken his Total Gym to another level. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=skyler+king

I agree Sk.17, notice that Chuck doesn't really have a body builders body even after all these years of using the product. He does seem to be nicely toned for his age. It takes a lot more reps on the Total Gym than commercial gym equipment but I still can work until exhaustion and burn some calories...

Jeannieselby you are so right. I have had my machine for 20 years and didn't fully appreciate it until I started going to a commercial gym again. Sure I got in some good workouts with it but didn't do enough reps to reach exhaustion. A gym membership is the same way. They both are of little benefit if not used...

Thanks Katsolo!!! I checked out the link you suggested and it is to the best YouTube fitness instructor using a Total Gym I have seen. I subscribed immediately. Here's a link to one of his upper body workouts.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5cVbj6DwYQ

I like him and it's better than most of the stuff out there. I'm not a body builder, but a lot of the basic exercises were too easy on the TG site. He takes it up quite a few notches.

Katsolo, I have to agree with you. Thanks for the link. I like how he puts a lot of emphasis on form. I'm amazed at the difference achieved when using correct form. It's hard to believe he got all those muscles on a TG. I don't think so...Lol I love the way he explains how each movement works different muscle groups. Thanks again!!!

Thanks Bearnoggin, we are on the same page! I get some of my best workouts in my yard. Cut the grass and I get steps. Trim the hedges and I'm getting an upper body workout. Legs, I don't know what works them, but mine get tired too. I still like tired and do a little extra...

I find it difficult to track total gym calories burned. How do you calculate them
