Question has anyone had experience of the Universal Credit System.

Three more weeks of lockdown.

I'll have to appreciate nature more and enjoy my garden pictures below. Fat secret only allowed me to uploaded 1 picture!

I purchased some scales on line and they arrived this morning they told me I was 100.7 kilos (222lbs) I take that with a pinch of salt, not eat too much salt! I can't access the scales I normally use at the moment.

I hope you are all keeping safe and well and are finding plenty of things to do.

My best wishes to you all.

Chestnut the only way I see anything that you post is when you make a comment so I don’t know what that’s all about you might want to figure that out.

Najwa that is because we live on two different continents. Universal Credit is I believe a British thing. Thank you anyway.

Thank you Najwa unfortunately FS has many foboils and it didn't allow me to upload all the photos I took, never mind. Najwa I get my exercise walking to Mums ever morning with her shopping and on my back home I will stop by the nearest food to her and buy shopping carrying it the rest of home, good weight lifting exercise it takes about 45 mins to walk.

They need to change the name of that credit line, because universal means exactly that ,no?

Najwa I don't know what it is like in the US but are government makes it very hard to claim benefits .

Hi Chestnut. Sorry can't help as I can't yet claim as we are just about managing to keep the clinic ticking over. However I know that as Lockdown started the crew at our local barber's who are all self employed and had no income as they shut down, were all trying to get claims verified and were on their phones waiting in queues of up to 10,000 !! I heard two days later the phone queues were around 100,000..... no idea how long it is taking for claims to get processed though.

Our new '3 morning working week' is hard to adjust to. I have a huge list of jobs at home and as I saw what was coming I had grabbed stuff like timber and trellis to build a new garden planter and wood stain etc so we have all the materials to do the jobs. Local plant nursery has set up delivery system so I am ok for compost and bedding plants now and have around 500 additions plants sown so you can see I have been keeping busy. As you have a nice garden you can exercise there - after all that 99 yr old guy has been walking 2.5 km in his garden and raised £3,000,000 for NHS charity - if he can do it.... Also there is a guy who ran a marathon around his small garden. I suppose I am lucky having fields l around as I can take Roco out each day and we rarely see anyone else. Mind you on Sunday morning there was a dog walker traffic jam as four of us met at the railway bridge - that was interesting as three high speed cyclists came tearing through as well.

Hello Chris how are you? The problem is I only purchased my business in January so I am not entitled to any help from the government because I don't have a years accounts yet . The Tennants of the retail business units i invested in have no cash flow so they have opted to take a rent break, the bank won't extend me any further credit. Never mind you are still her to banter with it, things could be worse? Chris you are one of the few with their head screwed on properly.

Graham thought I was mad buying in the stuff I did six weeks ago, but now we can do the DIY we need to without problems. My only problem is two words on the list of jobs..... 'tidy garage' ..... that will take at least a week.... sigh

Chris I have a garage too but it is full of trash the only things I seem to get rid are ladies or to be more precise they get rid of me. I am glad you are finding things to do . I have started to do my own house work for oblivious reasons and I am thinking about doing stuff in my garden!

Smirk!!! We have the 82 year old friend here too so he keeps us on our toes. Our landlord at work is a right eastward only agreeing to a 50% rent reduction for three months and said ' no more'. Lease runs out in 12 months and he boasted he has three people who will pay higher rent than us - son I plan to say 'fine they can have the building then' and stuff him. He will then find out rents in the area have fallen which is why so many properties are empty ! He needs to get his head out of his....... erm...

Awwww poor chestnut. I am sure you are a wow with the ladies but they just can't stand the pace

One bit of good news is that my essential meds arrived from hospital today so have four months this supply. No word from my brother who started chemo for bowel and liver cancer at c end of March - presume no news is good news

Snails have only pace , the ladies seem to want a man with more life in him! Chris I realise my retail Tennants can't afford the rent at the moment and they have been in business a long time and it is their livelyhood, I don't want them to lose everything because of my selfishness, I only purchased the business because I was greedy.
