Started when my wife sent me back to school and grew from there.

A buddy of mine gave the same P.O.V. except that he was retiring 'from' his office job > Once he did that he lost 50 pounds (incredible !)

@kenna, i am assuming that is photoshop. I have lost ~65# so far of the 115# gained at a desk job over the last 20 years.

I made a rule not to eat at the office. The only exception is a salad when given as an option.

I went from a very active job to couch-potato, in about two years I gained 42 lbs.

That is exactly what I did. I worked in a hospital and there were potlucks and venders brought food in daily. Non stop fabulous ethnic foods that people brought in for everyone to taste. I eventually just brought my own food— period. And,
learned to say no thank you, I have a specific way of eating that works for me.

Opps— I’ve never had a weight problem but if I ate everything that was laying around I would have. Before I retired I would sometimes have to stand and/or sit in the same spot for as long as 20+. hours.. could barely get relief to go to the bathroom let alone eat any kind of meal. Lived on cottage cheese, humus, carrot sticks, Nature Valley Granolla bars and water. Loved every single minute of it.
