Recovering from an aortic dissection I suffered 4 weeks ago today. Wound up also with a valve replacement, aneurysm repair and a stroke in the process. Anticipating a full recovery but a long recovery ahead.

Personal diary entry… diagnosed with degenerative disc disease in my back. Early stages. Not been able to lift in almost a month. Getting treatment to allow me to lift again. In the interim, the pain SUCKS. So I’m walking. A LOT.

First journal entry in over a month. A LOT going on here. For those of you who are friends with me on social media, please don’t say anything other than here ❤️. For starters, my mother is not doing well at all - spending much more time just tending to her. Secondly, I have something going on in the vertebrae at the base of my neck. Have not been able to lift weights since April 8th. Thirdly, I have been diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm and aortic valve issue. Apparently the valve thing I have had since birth. Have had studies done. See cardiologist for results in 2 weeks. I’m having ZERO symptoms. Found it by accident. Might have always had it. But reading the test results I have a couple of red flags. I’m not letting it slow me down. These pics are of today’s walk. Felt good. Didn’t try to gas it. Just a good, steady pace. Hope everyone is doing well here. I’ve missed you all and just being here. 💙

Went to 7am Mass at @stann_dor church, then came home and made this awesome breakfast sandwich. Bacon, egg and cheese on grilled seeded @solabreadco bread. About 575 calories and 7 net carbs.
