Off to St Ives tomorrow. Do I take my kindle to update my food diary. The family have planned out the eating. Take aways Thursday and Friday, fry up on Saturday and the birthday do Saturday evening. Daughter-in-law is going to make chilli on Sunday. Packed lunches and one Cornish Pasty lunch. Let's not mention cream teas. I intend to be good, but such temptations. We are not going out in the evening's apart from the do as there are 6 children to be babysat. So a lot of wine and snacks ordered. I could come back heavier than I went. I have to take my kindle and keep track. I think I will plan ahead what I intend to eat at each meal. Limit the damage. How many calories in a Cornish pasty.

I'd suggest some strict rules for yourself to help you through. Keep to you water target no matter what. Sometimes thirst is mistaken for hunger. Take some healthy snacks that will keep rather than biscuits or crisps (almonds are great if you like them - measure in advance or just count). Eat slowly and don't be afraid to not finish when eating out. You can always ask for a doggy bag. Takeaways are hard. Make sure you all agree you get first choice and serve yourself about 1/2 or 2/3 of what you would normally do (get a buddy in the group in advance to help keep it low) ... then have a wee bit more after a rest if you need it (if there's anything left, of course!) Don't let it be a competition to grab and eat the most. You'll need agreement and willpower on that first but believe me, it works! Have a wonderful time away. Px

Amazing weekend. I decided to go with the small portions. I know it was still more than my rdi I but I was a lot more active. My calves are killing me climbing all the hills. I shall do a weigh in tomorrow morning.
