Feeling much better this morning.
I have been reading about the 16:8 dieting, and, as it more or less is what I am doing I am going to formally adopt that regime. 10:00 to 18:00 is my time slot from now on. I normally have breakfast about 09:30, so a half hour delay is neither here nor there, and I have dinner at 17:00 (or just before). As I have said elsewhere, my better half (5'6" and a size 10) doesn't diet, but never eats after 18:00. She does have her cereal at 06:30 before going to work, but she needs that as she has an active job.
I find weekends difficult, as a long lie sees us up for 08:00. That leads to an early breakfast, then we get hungry before lunch time, which means a snack slips in, so we end up with 4 "meals" instead of 3. Adopting a formal regime should stop that.
Today and tomorrow my wife is doing double shifts, which means I feed myself, so this week Monday Tuesday are my "ding" days.

HI JockoT I presume it's chicken Ding, Curry Ding and meals for one Ding!..... I will watch with interest how you get on with the new regime, and I don't mind trying something new, where did you get the info from?

I saw it, a couple of days ago, right here among the featured activity. Unfortunately I cannot remember who was involved in the posts. Perhaps they will read this and redirect us. Tonight was Chilli Con Carnie "ding". Lidl's finest (I love their Chef Select meals), 513 Kcals.

Ahh the poptyping what a marvellous invention....I've heard about the 8 hour diet on the programme "the truth about diets" which was a good watch and very informative, it seemed to imply that you could eat anything you wanted within your time frame, seems a very reasonable plan to me..Good luck...x

I count my calories and only eat my RDI during my 8 hour window, so we will see what happens.

Glad you are feeling better JockoT! :) Though not for me 'ding' meals (we call the machine a pinger) if you like them are perfect for you - all analysed and counted and you know where you are. Well done. As long as it doesn't mean you focus on the not being 'allowed' to eat in the 16 hour window it should work well. I feel there is a lot of sense in it, particularly if it stops mindless snacking in the evening which seems to be so easy for so many people... You are motivated and focused, you are doing well.

16:8 only requires a minor adjustment to what I was doing anyway. Gives me an excuse for not having an early breakfast when the other half is at home!
