Glad today isn't my weigh-in day... scale was up 2 lbs this morning! Thinking it was just from eating too much salt yesterday and increasing my water intake. Stuck to my meal plan 100% yesterday which was a first in a while!

Still hating my breakfasts. Maybe I just need to wait until later in the morning to eat by bringing a piece of egg casserole or something to work to heat up. Ate two eggs scrambled with ham and sausage and a side of steamed broccoli this morning and had to force it down. It's really tough meeting my protein requirements in the morning without dairy. Cheese just makes everything so much better.

Goal today is stick to the meal plan, drink my water, and do my damn laundry before it takes over my closet.

Huh breakfast is my fav! I make 3-4 eggs scrambled- I add bacon in the scrambled eggs and eat a side of green beans. I dread lunch. It never fills me up and I stink at making good lunches

If you're not hungry, don't eat. I have no problem pushing breakfast back until the afternoon, the longer you can comfortably go between meals the better.

ditto Phil...if not hungry, why eat....I rarely ...rarely eat breakfast and don't count Protein. The question I have is...what is your Protein requirements...are you counting fat...if not, why not?

I eat breakfast because if I don't I'm starving by lunch and tend to overeat. My daily protein requirements are 163 grams, fat is 80 grams, carbs 50 grams. So I try to aim for 30 grams of protein per meal. Which is difficult for me at breakfast.

I believe your macros are out of sorts. 58% of protein converts to carbohydrate in the liver, and based on your per meal intake, your carbohydrate numbers are being pushed too high to support your goals. Look to lower your protein intake, in fact, don't count protein at all, it will take care of itself. Look to increase your percentage of calories from fat to around 65% or higher. There has been a tremendous disservice done by the over promotion and marketing of protein. You can't sell protein, but you can't sell fat.... Marketing wins again. Fat will give you more than 2x the energy load when compared to protein and carbs, keeping you full for a longer period of time.

I appreciate your feedback, but I’m not looking to go to a low carb/high fat plan. I’ve managed to build significant muscle while losing almost 50 lbs following a high protein diet. I’ve tried LC/HF and didn’t prefer it. My struggle isn’t with my overall macros, just with finding good breakfast options that work with my schedule. Thanks though!

good science out there that an even distribution of protein throughout the day (30-30-30) is more effective at maintaining muscle mass - that helps you deal with sugar better and age better - healthy muscle is key for reducing risk of diabetes and having great muscle strength for mobility rather. Have you ever had a body scan to look at your fat/muscle distribution. That would show you why you need the right protein at the right time to protect your muscle mass and not let fat replace muscle. There are always natural sources of protein - you don't need to buy protein from a big tub.

While not looking for a high fat diet, look at your protein, as that is quite high, more protein does not equate to more muscle, but timing of protein intake does. Without Cheese breakfast always seems kinda lacking :-) .... You could add some Avocado, or whip up a smoothie with some Greek yogurt and Protein powder.. Handful of fruit

Ha, also avoiding dairy for a while. Not for any specific health reason. I just can't control myself around it. It's a problem. I blame my Wisconsin upbringing.

I'm thinking I just need to make breakfast burgers and fry one up in the morning.

I also do no dairy or grains...I did buy Paleo Wraps (Google them) and wrap eggs in them...not bad.

Why not try stuffed egg rolls to take to work for mid-morning? Beat as many eggs as you plan to eat and make a few flat omelettes (basically like crepes but just egg). You can roll these around whatever protein and veg you like to eat cold (avocado and salmon or bacon is my favourite), put them into a lunch-box and they will be fine for that 9:30 - 11:00 hunger pangs even if you don't keep them in a fridge.

How about hard boiled eggs? They're a great thing to make in advance and eat as needed without scrambled or sunny side up eggs going cold.

OK -- I probably missed something, by why aren't you eating cheese?
