Hi Caroline, have a chat with the staff at the gym. The should be able to give you a program based on what you're goals are.

You cant burn belly fat (or indeed fat in any selective area). You can only burn "general" fat, and then develop muscles which will impact on how an area appears. This doesn't mean you need to develop a six pack, but there a load of exercises aimed at strengthening your core which, as stated, the staff will be able to assist with.

I think trying to exercise away fat can be hard if not impossible. Diet is much more efficient and if combined with exercise you can 'sculpt' your body to get the look you want. The body will only burn its fat stores if its calorie deficient and its much easier to achieve this deficit by focusing on input of food rather than output of energy.

There are not such exercises, unfortunately. But be careful with belly muscles targeting, as growing muscles in this area can initially (before sufficient amount of fat lost) make you feel that your belly is growing… if there is issue with muscle tone is belly area, there are many pilates exercises for that, which helped me 😇 good luck with your journey!

My trainer makes sure and incorporates squats, lunges, deadlifts anything that targets the bigger muscles as they will burn calories more and then diet has to be 90% on target but the only way to lose belly fat as stated by the others is calorie deficit and unfortunately no excercises that target that area. I found when I lost 50# we measured and I lost pretty consistently in inches everywhere but again targeting those large muscles will help to burn more calories. Good luck!

4-5 sessions a week of intensive cardio for at least 45 min. Fast cycling, running, aerobic, rowing etc.

Unfortunately there aren’t any exercises that specifically target belly fat as that is a gym myth. There are some great answers on here, for overall fat loss which in turn will help with belly fat is your diet and as mentioned below High Intensity workouts. Hope this helps

Hi Caroline truthfully nothing will help you besides a reasonable calorie deficit and usually the stomach area is one of the last places fat goes from unless you are genetically very fortunate . Any exercise will obviously help expend energy to some degree but staying active throughout the day and using N.E.A.T will have a more profound affect over the course of time than most of the exercise you engage in and it wont tire you out. building a little lean mass will help but it takes time and it doesnt make the huge amount of difference people seem to think. All the best with your diet / training
