I had my wellbeing check last week, I got a text message from my doctor to send a sample in and have another blood test as they think my kidney is leaking, I only have one kidney so it's worried me, looked to see what should n shouldn't eat for kidneys, no bananas, brown bread ,brown rice, dried fruits all the things iv been eating think8ng they are healthy 😢 🙈

oh that's not good news and very confusing for you (and me!) haven't heard of a leaking kidney so I hope you are able to recover quickly. makes you wonder what we f.s. People can eat!. keep us posted and take care.

It said it could be leaking protein, I'll get the test done n prob find I'm worrying for nothing xx

Protein in urine can be for lots of reasons, good to get things checked out. Sending you good vibes xx

Thank u, I think cos I only have 1 kidney which has never caused me any problems it panicked me a bit as if it fails I don't have a back up, apart from couple of aches health wise Iv always been well xx

I think at the min it's probably manageable if the 2nd lot come back the same, I'm sure they would give me lots of advice but some things I thought were healthy for weight loss don't seem to agree with kidneys it's maybe gonna be a life style change 😉

I know a lot of weight loss shakes aren’t good for kidneys. Sometimes high protein isn’t the best. Protein in urine can also depend on whether you’ve had a recent infection, dehydration, intense work out etc. A dipstick isn’t reliable, as it doesn’t tell you how much protein there is, the next set of tests will. Please try not to worry if you can - easy for me to say I know xx. As you say, you’re usually fit and healthy, so hopefully it all clears.

Before Xmas I had that cough n cold everyone's had I no I'm over thinking it but like I say I'm never ill so bit of a baby when I am off it 🤣🤣
